Our Doctors

Dr. Sunil Parekh

Sunil grew up in Kamloops, BC, and then completed his Undergraduate Degree at the University of Waterloo.

This then led him to London, England where he completed his Optometry Degree and gained experience and the world renown Moorfields Eye Hospital. After enjoying travelling around Europe with his wife, the two decided to make the move back to Canada and settle in the Okanagan. Sunil enjoys managing many eye diseases such as Cataracts and Macular Degeneration. In his spare time he enjoys working out and travelling.

Dr. Daniel Walker

Danny grew up in Mississauga, ON, and completed his Undergraduate and Optometry Degree at Waterloo as well.

He enjoys seeing a wide variety of patients and conditions within the scope of Optometry. Having said that, he has a special interest in ocular nutrition and disease prevention, as well as managing dry eye.In his spare time he enjoys music, cooking, hiking, and all types of traveling.

Dr. Rebecca Lamhonwah

Rebecca grew up in Revelstoke, BC. She was immersed in Optometry from a young age and decided to follow in her father’s footsteps.

After completing a one year honours research program at the University of British Columbia, Rebecca transferred to the University of Waterloo. There she completed her Bachelor of Science Degree and Optometry Degree, graduating with Dean’s Honour Distinction. While studying, Rebecca developed a keen interest in Pathology and Pediatrics. Outside of the world of Optometry, Rebecca enjoys hiking, kayaking and the outdoors with her family.

Dr. Karli Kilkus

Karli grew up in Kelowna, B.C. and chose to stay locally to complete her undergraduate degree in Honours Chemistry at the University of British Columbia – Okanagan.

After that she attended the University of Waterloo where she completed her Optometry training and graduated with Dean’s Honour Distinction. She then immediately returned home to the lovely Okanagan Valley to provide optometric care in her home town. Outside of optometry, Karli spends her time swimming, biking and motorcycling in the Summer and snowboarding in the Winter.

Eye for India

In September 2010 six Optometry Graduates embarked on an unforgettable journey to Calcutta, India to provide eyecare services. They rode on rikshas and crossed lakes to reach remote communities, providing eye exams and glasses. Dr. Parekh was proud to be a part of this mission and plans to go again in the near future.
